I welcome you to my site and invite you to view some of my works found here as well as at a number of local exhibitions that take place throughout the year. As for me, I began as a Graphic arts student, (University of Hertfordshire) but chose a career as an industrial and advertising photographer.
I worked for many years in an industrial and advertising studio, and then freelanced in Dubai, Brussels and Egypt. My clients were mainly car manufacturers, advertising agencies and hotel chains.
However I always painted in my spare time, and took regular commissions, including the racehorses of the ambassador to Panama. Since settling in Devon after the birth of my children, I now paint full time and enjoy every moment, whether it's a commission of something specific, a landscape or an abstract idea; The beauty and power of nature astounds me all the time, and my aim is to hold that up for others to see (Freeze a place in it's moment of glory) and tell that story again.
I like to paint with water colour or water soluble oil paint, and sometimes I use pebbles or sand to add another dimension, as shown in the picture alongside. All my paintings are professionally framed unless on box canvas. Prints are available of most, up to A3 size, and are printed with high quality inks onto Epson water colour paper These are supplied with a card mount and are cellophane wrapped. Prices start from £25.
I am a member of the Westward Ho art society, a widely known and respected art society, based at the Burton Art Gallery & Museum in Bideford. The society includes painters, print makers, sculptors, wood-carvers, potters and embroiderers among its members.
I am also a member of the Artists co-operative in Barnstaple based at Gallery 39. This is an artist co-operative gallery formed in 2009 and aims to promote the work of local artist makers. The work on sale is a mixture of media including paintings in watercolour, oils, gouache, textiles, fused and lampworked glass, stained glass, wood, ceramics, silver and button jewellery.
